SHIPPING INFORMATION
Shipping the whole gun requires common carrier shipment, like
UPS or FedEx to me and return, costing about $15-20 extra each way.
Send whole firearms or any piece with a serial number
to The Custom Shop, 220 East Denham St, Livingston, Tx,77351
If you are sending only the slide or small parts they can be sent by priority
mail for $4.95 to 142 Estate Road, Livingston. TX, 77351 in a small box through
the Post office. Include a $4.95 stamp with your check or money order for me
to return it to you.
It is not necessary to have your gun shipped by a FFL. Since the gun is
already in your possession you are presumed to be the legal owner and I can
ship it directly back to you. The ownership doesn't change just because you
send it in for repair. It is legal for you to send a handgun by common
carrier direct to a licensed dealer or gunsmith for repair, exchange or sale.
Do not forget to include a note specifying EXACTLY what you want done, and
what parts you have sent. Reading and answering many emails
every day, I probably will not remember what you wanted and if I have to
contact you it delays your return. If a note from you is in your "job box"
there is no doubt. If you have removed any parts at all, sights etc., before
shipping please note that also.
PLEASE NOTE..THIS IS IMPORTANT
One of my worst problems is guns sent to me with missing parts
and no parts list included. Unless I use valuable shop time to examine them
and tabulate every part, I waste time on on reassembly searching for parts
that were never sent and have to contact you about it.
If you do have to send me a gun with missing parts or extra parts,
please include in the parcel a note of what is missing or extra,
and a money order or personal check to J. Fuselier is ok.
Keep the shipping chore simple. Just tape up everything in a ziplock bag.
Put it in a box too large to hide in a pocket. That help to keep it from being
stolen. Stuff the box with crushed newsprint to prevent rattling. Heavy or exotic
padding is not necessary, crushed newsprint will do just fine, that's all you'll get
back.
Please don't put Scotch tape on the metal because that is so difficult to remove.
DON"T send your KT zipper bag or box or anything else that is not listed and
you don't want to lose.
Keep the packaging as simple as possible.
At the shipping office DO NOT get into conversation about the contents. Very few
clerks understand that it is perfectly legal to ship firearms and may go ballistic
on you. Just put it on the counter, pay and leave as quietly as possible.
Insure it realistically for replacement cost if you worry , BUT DO NOT put a
gunshop address on it, that is an invitation to steal it.
My address is: Fuselier Plating Co., 142 Estate Road, Livingston TX, 77351
Using that business address will often allow you a slight discount.
Be patient, please allow up to three weeks for return
UNDERSTAND THIS CLEARLY,
THE CARRIER CANNOT DELIVER A FIREARM WITHOUT AN ADULT SIGNATURE.
ARRANGE WITH SOME ADULT TO SIGN OR PLAN TO PICK IT UP YOURSELF.
I GET CHARGED EXTRA IF THE PACKAGE CANNOT BE DELIVERED PROPERLY.
IF IT IS SENT BACK TO ME AS UNDELIVERABLE YOU WILL PAY THE EXTRA EXPENSE
DO NOT EVER SEND ANY PISTOL by MAIL!! That can get us both in a jam.
The slide alone can be mailed, it has no serial number and is not considered a firearm.
Regardless of what anyone tells you, at the present time only Federal Firearm Licensees
can US Mail handguns, or a numbered handgun frame.
Extra magazine tubes for bluing or plating are $7.50 each when sent with the pistol.
Remove the spring and follower from the magazines to save weight.
Include a note with the serial number, exactly what you want done, and a list of any
parts removed from a whole gun or a list of all parts sent with a slide. I really
appreciate a self addressed label. You know your own address best.
That does make it quicker and believe it or not, there are some addresses I can't even
understand and sure won't know how to write properly.
DON'T get crazy with packaging. Seems like some of these guns take me 15 minutes
with a razor to carefully cut away the bubbles and duct tape. No Kidding!!!
Would you belie that some even wrap the check and address label and stamp around
the slide, then wrap it all with tape so I cut the check and stamp when opening it?
Just put the gun or parts in a ziplock or baggie, roll it up and stuff the box around
it with crumpled newspaper. That's plenty good enough and that's the way you'll get it
back.
If you suspect any package weighs more than 16 ounces, be sure to pass it over the
counter to a Postal clerk.
If you put anything HEAVIER THAN 16 OZ in a drop box it
WILL BE RETURNED to you and you will have wasted your postage. This is a Postal Rule.
REMEMBER, no whole guns or even frames with a serial number by mail!
